We have learned of an incident involving the vessel X-PRESS NILE, an Egypt flag, 2004 built, 6,434gt fully cellular containership, on a voyage from Port Said to Evyap, possibly carrying transhipment cargo to / from other global locations.
The vessel experienced engine failure at the southern entrance of Canakkale Strait at 0500 hours today. Tugs are in attendance and the vessel has been shifted to a safe location and anchored.
