We have learned of an incident involving the vessel “TOP TRADER”, a 2001 built 30,053gt bulk carrier.

It is understood that the Vessel was loading petcoke at Porte Jose, Venezuela, for export to ports in Europe when a fire broke out in three cargo holds. The crew could not control the fire and as such Salvage operations were commenced with T&T Salvage Asia PTE Ltd under the terms of Lloyd’s Open Form. It is understood that as a result of the incident, the Vessel will no longer travel to Europe but is instead destined for Cartagena, Columbia.
