NEW CASUALTY – YM EFFICIENCY 1 June 2018

We have been advised of an incident involving the vessel ���YM EFFICIENCY�۝, a 2009 built 42,741gt fully cellular containership. It s understood that the ���YM EFFICIENCY�۝ suffered a collapse of stow en-route from China to Australia, as a result of which more than 80 containers were lost overboard and at least a further 30 containers seriously damaged on board.

SEVENTH UPDATE – MAERSK HONAM 22 May 2018

The Maersk Honam has evolved since the explosion on 6th March into a complex matter with all available information pointing to a large loss to insurers and cargo owners the world over. After being ablaze for almost 11 weeks the vessel was due to put in at Jebel Ali today. Inevitably as a result of the severity of the fire Maersk Line have already suggested all cargo in Holds 1,2 and 3 are Total Loss – which is understandable when considering the incident.

FIFTH CASUALTY UPDATE – MAERSK HONAM 27 April 2018

Since our last Casualty Update, of 19th April 2018, we have received new instructions to represent further cargo interests onboard MAERSK HONAM, for which we will be providing GA &/or LOF Salvage security, conducting surveys and pursuing recovery action.
You may be aware that the vessel has now anchored off Jebel Ali, UAE, where firefighting operations will be completed. However, hot spots do still remain and it is expected to be another four to five weeks before cargo can be off-loaded.

CASUALTY UPDATE – MAERSK HONAM 19 April 2018

Further to our Casualty Update of 23rd March 2018, we have received instructions from still more cargo interests onboard MAERSK HONAM.
Although other options had remained under consideration, it appears that the vessel is now indeed being towed to Jebel Ali, UAE, where its cargo will be off-loaded.
Current ETA is 08.00 hours 24th April 2018, subject to all proceeding as planned and fire being kept fully under control…
