We have learned of an incident involving the vessels KINEI MARU NO.22 and POS YOKOHAMA, reported to have collided approximately 7nm off Tahara, eastern Honshu, south of Nagoya, Japan.
POS YOKOHAMA, IMO 9164603, is a South Korea flag, 1998 built, 8,306gt containership, en route from Yokohama to Yokkaichi
KINEI MARU NO.22, IMO 9021356, is a Japan flag, 1992 built, 699gt general cargo ship, en route from Anegasaki to Nagoya.
W.E. Cox have been advised of an incident involving the Vessel LAURA MAERSK a 2001 built 50,688gt Fully Cellular Containership which suffered an explosion and fire in the engine room 4th June 2020.

Read moreWe have learned of an incident involving the vessel ASIA PEARL IV, a Singapore flag, 2010 built, 22,402gt bulk carrier, laden with 30,000 tons of sugar, which ran aground off Mendanau Island, Indonesia while on a voyage from Thailand to Indonesia.
We understand that the vessel loaded at Sriracha,Thailand, in the last week of April and was scheduled to discharge the cargo at Merak, Indonesia, on 3rd May.
We have learned of an incident involving the vessel MAERSK VILNIUS, a Singapore flag, 2010 built, 20,927gt fully cellular container ship, during a voyage from Freeport to Port Elizabeth.
MAERSK VILNIUS reportedly suffered a fire in the engine room, 220 nm from the French Overseas territory of Guadeloupe, during the morning of 26th April. The vessel was drifting in a westerly direction at a speed of 1.4 knots, and the engine may no longer be operable, considering the reported damage. The shipowner has despatched tug ALP DEFENDER from Trinidad and Tobago, which is expected to arrive in the area today. The plan is to tow MAERSK VILNIUS to a port for repairs.
