We have learned of an incident involving the vessel Shiling, a Singaporean flag, 53,807 gt, 2005 built, containership which issued a Mayday call after losing power off coast of S Island, 22 NM NNW of Farewell Spit, New Zealand on 12 May 2023. Vessel Owners have now contracted with professional Salvors, DDW Offshore under a Lloyd’s Open Form (LOF) Agreement.
The container vessel has a capacity of 5,028teu is operated by Feedertech Private Limited and had previously called at Wellington and Auckland in New Zealand. As a result of this incident it is highly likely that there will be delays to cargo delivery and cargo owners will be required to provide securities before delivery of cargo.
