We have learned of an incident involving the vessel PHUC THUAN 36, a Vietnam flag, 1,599gt, 2010 built, bulk carrier, laden with various steel cargoes, which encountered heavy weather en route from Dong Guan to Laem Chabang, causing cargo to shift and the vessel to develop a severe list.
The crew abandoned PHUC THUAN 36 and were rescued by another nearby vessel. Salvage operations are ongoing, and shipowners have declared General Average, appointing Marine Claims Office of Asia Pte Ltd, Singapore, as General Average Adjusters.
