We have learned of an incident involving the vessel MSC BALTIC III, a Liberia flag, 25,407gt, 2003 built, fully cellular containership, which suffered a power loss and ran aground off the coast of Cedar Cove, Newfoundland 15th February 2025.

The vessel, which has a capacity of 2,478teu and operates on the Canada Gulf Bridge service on behalf of MSC between Canada, Bahamas and Mexico, is hard aground with all crew members evacuated. As a result of the incident there will be delays in cargo delivery, cargo damages and with Vessel Owners requiring the assistance of professional Salvors they may consider declaring General Average.
