We have learned of an incident involving the vessel MOL CHARISMA, a Bahama flag, 86,692gt, 2007 built, fully cellular containership, which ran aground in the South China Sea, en route from Vung Tau to Singapore. MOL CHARISMA was successfully refloated and, in accordance with Class NK’s interim approval to sail to the nearest port, has now returned under its own power to Vung Tau, for inspection, it being suspected that the vessel may have suffered significant damages.
MOL CHARISMA operates on MOL’s EC5 service, running from the Far East to East Coast North America via the Suez Canal.
