We have received the following new casualty report.
Marshall Islands flag, 71,178gt, 2017 built vehicle carrier GOLDEN RAY capsized while approaching the port of Brunswick, in the St. Simons Sound, near the St. Simons Island pier.
The US coastguard has initiated a rescue response. 18 crew members have been rescued and 4 remain unaccounted for.
The cause of the incident is not yet determined.
The vessel was loaded with a cargo of around 4,000 vehicles at the time of the incident.
The above incident may give rise to Salvage, general average (GA) and recovery issues.
