W.E. Cox have learnt of an incident involving the DELPHINE, a Maltese flag, 74,273GT, Roll On Roll Off vessel. The DELPHINE was enroute from Killingholme, UK to Zeebrugge, Belgium when a fire broke out at the CLdN terminal in Zeebrugge on 16th April 2025.

It is understood that the fire started on the third deck which contained 60 electric vehicles and 40 internal combustion cars. We understand that the DELPHINE’s crew had been evacuated and that the Master remained on board to coordinate firefighting efforts.

It is further understood that the fire was brought under control with the use of the DELPHINE’s firefighting equipment. However, the DELPHINE continues to be closely monitored as the fire may reignite. Responders have estimated that about 60 to 70 vehicles have burned out.

The DELPHINE is owned by CLdN ro-ro S.A. and managed by Anglo-Eastern Ship Management (NL) B.V. She trades between the UK, Belgium and Ireland.

As a result of this casualty, cargo deliveries will likely be delayed, with significant cargo loss and damage. The situation may also give rise to General Average that will require Cargo interests to provide General Average Security prior to cargo being released at destination.
