New Casualty - DAFNI - General Average

Incident: Cargo Shifting – General Average.
W.E. Cox have been appointed by cargo interests in relation to an incident involving the DAFNI, a Marshall Islands motor vessel of 182.90 metres in length and with a capacity of 974teu. The DAFNI experienced cargo shifting on 28th November 2024 whilst laden and enroute from Vietnam and China to various ports in the west coast of the USA. The DAFNI called at a port of refuge in Portland, Oregon to restow the cargo on board and thereafter continued her voyage.
As a result of this casualty, the Master of the DAFNI declared General Average and Marine Adjusting Solutions have been appointed as the average adjusters. Cargo interests are required to provide General Average Security prior to cargo being released at destination.
