Further to our bulletin of 27th January, a four-man team from SMIT Salvage successfully boarded the Modern Express by helicopter and attached a line to tug Centaurus at 11.45 am yesterday. The Salvage crew were then safely airlifted off the Modern Express by a French Navy helicopter.

The Modern Express is currently being towed away from the French coast at approximately 2 knots, and expected to arrive in refuge port, Bilbao, Spain by Wednesday morning, 3rd February.
