We have learned of an incident involving the vessel MAERSK PATRAS, a 2005 built, 31,333gt fully cellular containership, which was bound Conakry when Madrid Rescue Centre reported an engine-room fire in lat 27 30.8N, long 13 54.7W at 0118, UTC, on the 1st November 2016.

The crew activated CO2 and the fire was extinguished. Tug Salvanguard departed Las Palmas at 0700, UTC, and Salvanguard towed Maersk Patras to Las Palmas.
