HANSA MEERSBURG

We have been instructed by cargo interests to investigate an incident involving the vessel “HANSA MEERSBURG”, a 23,388GT fully cellular containership.

It is understood that the Vessel allided with berth no.11 at Keelung port, Taiwan, January 8th. As a result of the allision, gantry crane no. 112 collapsed, causing significant damage to containers both on board the Vessel and on the dock side.

We understand that, due to health and safety concerns, it is not possible to inspect the damage at this time. However, once the collapsed crane has been removed, damaged containers will be moved to a safe location for joint inspections.
