FIFTH CASUALTY UPDATE – MAERSK HONAM

Since our last Casualty Update, of 19th April 2018, we have received new instructions to represent further cargo interests onboard MAERSK HONAM, for which we will be providing GA &/or LOF Salvage security, conducting surveys and pursuing recovery action.

You may be aware that the vessel has now anchored off Jebel Ali, UAE, where firefighting operations will be completed. However, hot spots do still remain and it is expected to be another four to five weeks before cargo can be off-loaded.

W E Cox Claims Group’s various units remain in ongoing communication with GA Adjusters, Salvors and representatives of other interested parties, including other cargo interests with whom we are joined in the instruction of fire experts to investigate causation. Meanwhile, our own surveyors remain on standby to attend at Jebel Ali, once dates of berthing / discharge have been confirmed.

If you have any involvement in this casualty, requiring provision of GA / LOF Salvage guarantees, cargo surveys &/or protection of rights of recovery, we would be pleased to add your interests to our portfolio.
