CSCL INDIAN OCEAN

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel CSCL INDIAN OCEAN, a Hong Kong flag, 2015 built, 187,541gt fully cellular containership, which has run aground in the River Elbe near Grunendeich, on a laden voyage from Felixstowe to Hamburg via Rotterdam, having previously called at Singapore.

The vessel is believed to have suffered a blackout or navigational error and, at last count, seven tugs were engaged in refloating efforts. These have so far been unsuccessful but a further attempt is due to be made tomorrow. A short video may be found at the following link:
