CONTI PERIDOT/CARLA MAERSK

We have learned of an incident involving the vessels CONTI PERIDOT, a 2011 built, 33,036gt Bulk Carrier and CARLA MAERSK, a 1999 built, 29,289gt Oil & Chemical Tanker, which collided in dense fog in Houston Ship Channel.

The CARLA MAERSK was breached and suffered a spill of the cargo of fuel additive. CONTI PETRIDOT was carrying Steel cargoes. CARLA MAERSK was in transit to and from Houston and Venezuela, while CONTI PERIDOT had previously called at Changshu in China, Pohang, Korea and Balboa, Panama.

It transpires that Owners of CONTI PETRIDOT have since declared General Average, although the majority of the cargo of Steel remains unrepresented for the provision of security.

If you may be interested with cargo on board and W.E. Cox Claims Group can be of any assistance in providing securities and representing your interest in the defence of the GA, please do not hesitate to contact us.
