Further to our Casualty Update of 23rd March 2018, we have received instructions from still more cargo interests onboard MAERSK HONAM.
Although other options had remained under consideration, it appears that the vessel is now indeed being towed to Jebel Ali, UAE, where its cargo will be off-loaded.
Current ETA is 08.00 hours 24th April 2018, subject to all proceeding as planned and fire being kept fully under control.
W E Cox remain in ongoing communication with GA Adjusters, Salvors and representatives of other interested parties, including other cargo interests with whom we are joined in the instruction of fire experts to investigate causation. Meanwhile, our surveyors remain on standby to attend at Jebel Ali, once dates of arrival / discharge have been confirmed.
