CASUALTY UPDATE – EVER GIVEN

CASUALTY UPDATE - EVER GIVEN

Type: Further to our initial advice, you are no doubt aware that EVER GIVEN was successfully refloated on 29th March 2021 and moved to the Great Bitter Lake for inspection. It is also now confirmed that shipowners have declared General Average, so suitable GA securities will need to be in place before cargoes may be released for delivery, and we are in contact with appointed GA Adjusters, Richards Hogg Lindley, in this respect. At present, there is no estimate set for GA but this is likely be relatively high, since current indications are that there will not be a separate Salvage claim. If you are aware of any involvement in this casualty and W E Cox Claims Group may be of assistance in any way, including provision of GA guarantees, arranging surveys, adjusting any potential losses &/or undertaking recovery action, please do not hesitate to contact us.
