We have learned of an incident involving the vessel YM UNICORN, a China flag, 91,586gt, 2013 built, fully cellular containership, which ran aground just before midnight 11th December 2024 in front of the Keelung Lighthouse when arriving at Keelung, Taiwan.

The vessel, which has a capacity of 8,626teu and operates on the PS4 lane between China, Taiwan and the USA for Yang Ming, has been re-floated by tugs but is understood to have suffered damage to the forepeak allowing water ingress. As a result of the damage there may be delays in cargo delivery, cargo damages and vessel owners may consider declaring General Average.
