We have learned of a new incident involving the vessel ABIS CARDIFF a 2011 built 4,225gt General Cargo with Container Capacity, which reported engine trouble on 18th December.
The disabled vessel was reported drifting north of Cap de la Hague, English Channel.
Owners contracted a salvage tug, which towed the vessel to Cherbourg Road on 19th December. The vessel is due to be towed to Rotterdam.
It is yet to be determined if salvage security is ultimately required or whether General Average may be declared, but should insurers determine that they are involved with cargo on board and W.E. Cox Claims Group may be of assistance in any way, we would be pleased to hear from you.
