W.E. Cox have been instructed by a number of cargo interests following an incident involving the vessel ABILITY, a Liberia flag, 36,757gt, 2021 built, bulk carrier, which ceased navigation, having been caught in extreme weather conditions.
ABILITY is reported to be laden with cargo of wheat in bulk and was en route from Vancouver to Mombasa, having set sail on 8th January 2023.
It is reported that a salvage operation is being carried out for the vessel to be towed towards Tokyo Bay, expected to arrive on/about 19th February 2023, and that shipowners have now declared General Average.
