New Casualty - KMTC SURUBAYA collision with GLENGYLE

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel KMTC SURABAYA, a Panama Flag, 2018 built fully cellular containership, which collided with the vessel GLENGYLE, a Hong Kong Flag, 2015 built bulk carrier on the Long Tau River, Vietnam.

KMTC SURABAYA, with a capacity of 2,806teu was en-route from Vietnam to Hong Kong. She has suffered considerable damage to the bow.

GLENGYLE, which was en-route to Saigon Port, Vietnam has considerable damage to her stern.

As a result of the collision both vessels are currently stuck together with professionals assessing the extent of damages, and planning to release the vessels whilst limiting pollution.

This collision will lead to delays in cargo delivery with potential cargo damages and the possibility of Securities having to be provided before sound cargo can be delivered.
