Incident:              Collision

W.E. Cox have learned of an incident involving the MARIANNA GLORY, an Indonesian Flag vessel, 17,375GT, liquefied petroleum gas carrier, which collided with the AOM JULIA, a Panamanian Flag vessel, 39,737GT, bulk carrier, in Balikpapan, outside Zone A, Indonesia.

Having completed an STS operation, the MARIANNA GLORY was enroute to Makassar, Indonesia with about 8,000MTS of LPG when she collided with the AOM JULIA following severe weather conditions. We understand that Indonesian authorities have assessed the area and have noted that there were no signs of pollution. It was also noted that the MARIANNA GLORY suffered a bow deformation whilst the AOM JULIA suffered a hull breach on the starboard side of cargo hold no. 4.

The MARIANNA GLORY is owned by PT Pelayaran Arthasamudera Mandiri and is managed by Thome Ship Management Private Limited. She trades in Indonesia (mainly), Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia and India.

The AOM JULIA is owned by Shinei Kaiun Company Limited. She trades in Indonesia, China and Hong Kong.

As a result of this casualty, cargo deliveries will likely be delayed, with significant cargo loss and damage. The situation may also give rise to General Average that will require Cargo interests to provide General Average Security prior to cargo being released at destination.
