Casualty Update - ONE ORPHEUS - Steering Failure

Incident: Steering failure
Following our initial report into the incident involving the ONE ORPHEUS, a Singapore flag, 99543 gt, 2008 built, a container vessel which reportedly experienced steering failure as a result of its rudder breaking down before running aground.
The vessel has remained at anchorage at Port Said where an underwater inspection was undertaken by the vessel operators, ONE. Following the inspection it was determined that further temporary repairs are required prior to the vessel being able to complete her voyage. Assuming that these repairs are successful the vessel is now anticipated to arrive at Rotterdam 27th December 2023.
The vessel with a capacity of 9040 TEU is operated by ONE and previously called at Singapore, Tokyo, Nagoya, Kobe and Shimizu. As a result of this incident there will be delays to cargo delivery and cargo owners might be required to provide securities before delivery of cargo.
