New Casualty - MSC FAITH - Grounding

Incident Date:    31st January 2023

Vessel:                MSC FAITH

IMO No.             9842085

Type:                   Fully Cellular Containership

Incident:             Grounding

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel MSC FAITH, a Liberia flag, 113000 gt, 2019 built,  fully cellular containership, which ran aground on the 31st of January 2023 halfway between Singapore and Riau islands, shortly after leaving Singapore, bound for Yantian China.

The fully cellular container vessel with a capacity of 11,100teu is operated by MSC on its “TIGER” service between Middle East and China and had previously called at King Abdullah and Abu Dhabi ports before sailing to Singapore.

As a result of this incident it is highly likely that there will be delays to cargo delivery and cargo owners might be required to provide securities before delivery of cargo.
