We have learned of an incident involving the vessel KEA TRADER, a Malta flag, 2017 built, 25,145gt fully cellular containership, en route from Papeete to Noumea.
The vessel is reported to have run onto the Durand reefs 50 miles southeast of Mare, where she is stable but remains aground. An assessment and response team was hoisted onto KEA TRADER by helicopter and the shipowner has been ordered to submit a salvage plan for the protection of personnel and the environment
