ISLA BARTOLOME

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel ISLA BARTOLOME, an Ecuador flag, 2013 built, 3,079gt fully cellular containership, on a fully laden voyage from Guayaquil to Galapagos Islands.

The vessel was reported to have run aground and partially sunk in the main shipping channel just off Ecuador. Smit Salvage are contracted under Lloyd’s Open Form and Salvage security will be required before cargo of approximately 160 containerloads may be released.
