We have learned of an incident involving vessel UMM SALAL, a Malta flag, 2011 built, 141,077gt fully cellular containership, on a voyage from Antwerp to Jeddah, then to Port Klang and Shanghai, having previously called at Rotterdam and Hamburg.

On 31st January 2015, UMM SALAL ran aground as a result of engine failure while exiting Deurganck Dock, Antwerp. It is reported that Salvors were engaged under terms of Lloyd’s Open Form and five tugs were employed in refloating the vessel.

UMM SALAL subsequently continued her voyage and is currently in port at Jeddah.
