We have learned of an incident involving the vessel HANSA BRANDENBURG, a Liberia flag, 2003 built, 18,334gt fully cellular containership, on a voyage from Singapore to Durban, having also called at Hong Kong.
It is reported that there was an explosion when a container caught fire approximately 200 nautical miles Northeast of Mauritius.
The crew have abandoned the vessel, which remains on fire pending potential Salvage assistance.
