Incident: Immobilized off Acapulco
We have learned of an incident involving the vessel ARCHIMIDIS, a Liberia flag, 89,776 gt, 2006 built, fully cellular containership, which reportedly was disabled and drifting southwest of Acapulco. The vessel is carrying cargoes loaded at various ports in China and Korea, bound for Cristóbal, Savannah, Norfolk and New York.
We understand that Five Oceans Salvage are contracted under Lloyd’s Open Form and have dispatched a tug to rescue the vessel, with the intention of towing the vessel to Panama.
Salvors have appointed Marine Adjusting Solutions in Greece, and their associates Blue Seas Adjusters in London, to assist with the collection of Salvage security, but there no indication yet of any declaration of General Average.
