HON CHUN

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel HON CHUN, a Hong Kong flag, 1989 built, 9,965gt fully cellular containership, operating between Taiwan, Hong Kong and mainland China, possibly carrying transhipment cargo from / for other ports of origin / destination.

The vessel was reported to have run aground as a result of Typhoon Hato. The nature and scope of salvage services have yet to be determined, and whether security is ultimately required or General Average may be declared is unknown.
