CASUALTY – VIRGINIA TRADER

We have learned of an incident involving the vessel VIRGINIA TRADER, a Malta flag, 2006 built, 27,059gt fully cellular containership, which ran aground off Puerto Barrios, Guatemala. The vessel arrived at S. Tomas de Castilla on 15th April and sailed the following evening. VIRGINIA TRADER is currently operating between USA South coast and Central American ports but could be carrying transhipped cargo to / from anywhere worldwide.

Salvors Smit Salvage Americas were engaged under Lloyd’s Open Form.
